Well Visits and Medication Reviews

Appointments for physical exams, sports physicals, medication check-ups, and consultations should be made as early as possible. Please expect for a 6-8 week lead time when scheduling well visits - don't wait until the last minute to schedule! You can always ask to be put on a wait list for last minute cancellations. 

*Pro Tip for Sports Physicals: if your child is due for a spring well visit, ask to schedule it AFTER April 15th so that their sports form will be good for the following school year (per MHSAA guidelines) and will save you another trip back to the office!

If you are unable to keep your appointment or if you are going to be late for an appointment, please call us as soon as possible. 

If a relative or babysitter brings your child to the office for an appointment, please have them bring a completed Authorization for Treatment Form signed by a parent or legal guardian.

Same Day Sick Visits

We allocate 30% of our office hours every day to same day sick appointments to ensure that your child can receive the care they need when they are ill. If your child is sick and needs to be seen in our office, please call for an appointment as soon as possible. The phones open 30 minutes prior to clinic (7:30 am Monday through Friday, and 8:30 on Saturday)

Nurse Triage

If you are uncertain about your child’s health or symptoms, feel free to call our office and speak with our dedicated phone triage nurse, who is available Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm. Our nurse can help you by recommending strategies you can utilize at home, to determine whether your child should be seen in the office or if this is a more acute issue that requires the Emergency Department. 

When you call, staff members will ask questions about your child’s symptoms, the duration of symptoms, health issues your child might have, and any medications your child is taking. Being prepared to answer these questions will help the call go as quickly and smoothly as possible. If you need an appointment, we will schedule one that will best suit the health of your child and the availability in our schedule.

AFTER HOURS NURSE TRIAGE

Because we are dedicated to providing access to care any time of day (or night), TAPAC also offers an After Hours Nurse Triage when the clinic is closed. Just call the office and follow the prompts, and you will be directed to a nursing service and a knowledgeable nurse will call you back shortly. We ask that this line be reserved for time-sensitive or urgent matters (no requests for medication refills or scheduling appointments). While our nurses are a wealth of information, one of TAPAC's physicians is on call 24/7 and available for the nurse to discuss/confirm care recommendations.
